Chuck is a high school English teacher by profession. A Bay Area native, he relocated to Visalia in 2017 and taught for 2 years at Lindsay High School where he helped to start and advise a GSA. He currently teaches English and Journalism at Washington Union High School in Fresno County. Chuck has previously served on the Board on Directors for the Visalia Players, has sung with the Sequoia Chamber Chorale, been a member of Lindsay Rotary, participates with Tulare-Kings County PFLAG, and volunteers on occasion for the Source. He attends St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Visalia and is involved with several aspects of their ministry. You can also find him at local Comic Cons in Sci-Fi Cosplay. Chuck has a strong passion for the education of youth, advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community, supporting the arts, and volunteer service which focuses on inclusion, acceptance, and human rights for all. He hopes that his participation with Velva in Over the Edge this year will help to raise awareness for issues centering around the LGBTQ+ community and to support the Source in their ongoing good works in Tulare and Kings Counties.
